Family support program

Gold Ribbon Tech

Practical technology. Responsible placement. Support that reaches beyond treatment.

Gold Ribbon Tech is Kiona Foundation's active and ongoing device refurbishment and placement program. It turns donated computer hardware into practical tools for pediatric cancer families and caregivers.

One program. Three responsibilities.

Receive carefully. Refurbish securely. Place responsibly.

Gold Ribbon Tech is organized around clear stewardship from the moment a device enters the program through the moment it is ready for responsible placement.

How the program works

A responsible path from surplus technology to practical support.

Technology can help families remain connected to education, information, care coordination, and advocacy while cancer changes daily life.

Receive responsibly

The program receives donated computer hardware through a controlled and documented process.

Refurbish securely

Device preparation follows responsible data handling, refurbishment standards, and documented readiness.

Place through trusted pathways

Prepared devices move toward eligible recipients through trusted referral pathways.

The role of technology

Continuity matters beyond the treatment room.

For a family navigating pediatric cancer, access to reliable technology can support learning, communication, practical planning, and connection.

Kiona Foundation's cancer mission serves people and families across the lifespan. Gold Ribbon Tech responds to practical needs that can accompany pediatric cancer while remaining part of that broader mission.

Current program status

Active, ongoing, and receiving support.

Gold Ribbon Tech is an active Kiona Foundation program. The Foundation has already received several device donations and continues to coordinate appropriate contributions, responsible refurbishment, and placement through the program.

Device intake is coordinated directly by the Foundation so each contribution can be reviewed for program fit, data handling, and readiness before it is accepted.
