Public service awareness

The signs can be small. The impact can be anything but.

Look closer. See the whole child. Move the research forward.

Childhood cancer affects more than a child's health. This September, learn about persistent changes worth discussing, understand the realities families can face, and see how public awareness connects to Kiona Foundation's research mission.

This information supports awareness and conversations with trusted healthcare professionals. It is not a diagnostic tool or medical advice.

Know the signs

Look closer at changes that persist.

Some early signs of childhood cancer can resemble common illnesses or injuries. Awareness starts with noticing persistent or unusual changes and discussing concerns with a healthcare professional.

01

Unexplained bruising

02

Persistent fatigue

03

Recurring fevers

04

A limp that does not go away

05

A persistent headache

Important: One symptom alone does not indicate cancer. These changes often have other causes. If a change is persistent, unusual, worsening, or concerning, speak with your child's healthcare professional.

More than treatment

A diagnosis can reshape everyday life.

Treatment is only one part of the experience. Families may also navigate changes to school, routines, finances, relationships, and the practical realities of caring for a child.

Foundation service

Questions or support

Connect the message to what your family needs.

If you are looking for financial navigation, family support, education continuity, or information about the campaign, contact Kiona Foundation. We will help you identify the right next step.

When you look closer

You see the child beyond the diagnosis.

You see the symptoms worth asking about, the family adapting outside the hospital, and why awareness must include the full experience, not only treatment.

You see the signs.

You see the child.

You see the family.

You see more than treatment.

Move the research forward

Awareness opens the door. Research carries the work forward.

Kiona Foundation's research work is anchored in pharmacognosy and advances novel botanical drug discovery through the FDA Botanical Drug Development pathway.

The Foundation's research direction includes endogenous cannabinoid system modulation and KF-ECS-2025, which is undergoing independent IRB reconstitution.
